Unified commerce brings all of a retailer's channel data together in one real-time platform, going a step further than omnichannel by eliminating the need for separate systems per channel.

Unified commerce is the technological evolution of omnichannel commerce. Rather than just linking channels together, unified commerce brings all collected data into one central system in real time. This gives retailers a single, consistent view of inventory, orders, and customers across every channel, enabling a seamless shopping experience while also surfacing synergies between channels that separate systems would miss.

The key distinction from omnichannel: omnichannel aligns the customer-facing experience across channels, but usually still relies on separate backend systems connected through interfaces. Unified commerce removes that layer of interfaces by running everything on one platform.
