Bringing transparency to every order at PAPER & TEA
The automation of Order Routing processes enables PAPER & TEA to bring transparency to every order and determine the best fulfillment location based on individual criteria and flexibility in fulfillment processes.

PAPER & TEA stands for premium products that combine quality, aesthetics and craftsmanship, ranging from fine tea varieties to thoughtfully designed accessories and stationery. Founded in Germany, the brand has evolved into an international lifestyle retailer with more than 38 stores across seven countries, a global online shop and a team of over 350 employees. The close connection between physical retail and digital channels forms the foundation of PAPER & TEA’s ongoing growth.
As the international footprint expanded, order fulfillment grew increasingly complex. Manual processes, limited visibility into inventory and order status, and disconnected systems across stores, warehouses and logistics partners led to inefficiencies and higher operational effort. At the same time, the business required greater flexibility to support omnichannel sales and evolving fulfillment scenarios. To modernize order processes, reduce manual work and create end to end transparency, PAPER & TEA needed a scalable order management system capable of orchestrating all fulfillment locations and partners. fulfillmenttools provided the basis to digitalize workflows and enable efficient, transparent fulfillment across the entire network.

The challenges for PAPER & TEA

Evolving order processes no longer fit
As PAPER & TEA expanded internationally, existing order processes were no longer aligned with the evolving business model, limiting flexibility and slowing down daily fulfillment operations.

Manual processes driving inefficiency
A high share of manual tasks across fulfillment increased operational effort and costs, making it difficult to run efficient and scalable processes across stores and central operations.

Limited transparency across orders and inventory
Restricted visibility into order status and product availability complicated coordination across teams and locations and negatively impacted both operational efficiency and customer experience.

Managing B2B and B2C in parallel
Running different sales channels and shops for B2B and B2C customers at the same time added complexity, as both segments followed different requirements but relied on shared inventory.
